Polish Open Fiber (PŚO) is a wholesale operator that offers all retail operators open access to the broadband network in Poland on equal and non-discriminatory conditions. Currently, services provided on the PŚO infrastructure include: Netia, Orange, Play, Plus and T-Mobile The coverage of the PŚO network already covers over 4.1 million households, and in the future it is planned to expand this number to over 6 million. For this purpose, the company is intensively expanding and modernizing its infrastructure, implementing the latest technology in the XGS-PON standard. Thanks to it, retail operators will be able to offer their customers FTTH internet services with speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s.
The key challenge for the new organization was to develop a modern, flexible data warehouse system in the cloud that would allow for the management of operational, analytical and reporting data in an automated and scalable manner.

Scope of work
Design and implementation of Data Lake architecture:
- Together with the client's team, we created the Data Lake concept in GCP, ensuring flexibility and low maintenance costs.
- We have built a DWH structure with the possibility of easy integration with new data sources.
Integration of 13 source systems:
- Our team has implemented ELT processes for relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- We have implemented a mechanism that allows you to dynamically add new data refresh processes to the orchestration implemented by Cloud Composer (Airflow).
Process automation and monitoring:
- We have created mechanisms for automatically generating table structures in BigQuery.
- We have implemented a logging and monitoring system in Cloud Logging.
Reporting and analytics optimization:
- We have built a data model that constitutes one, consistent source of truth for the entire organization.
- Together, we implemented KPIs and analytical tools to support business decisions.
Security and access policy:
- We have implemented access control and automatic assignment of Policy Tags.
- We have integrated the solution with VPN for secure communication between systems.
Value for the customer
Key results:
- Instant access to data: The client gained full independence in reporting and data analysis.
- Effective data management: Possibility of automatic integration of new systems in the Data Lake.
- Cost savings: Elimination of the need to invest in on-premise infrastructure.
- Readiness for future needs: The system enables quick implementation of the event-driven model and scaling for growing volumes of processed data.
Business value:
- The client avoided the need to build expensive local infrastructure.
- Possibility of flexible development of the reporting and analytics system, without the need to involve external suppliers for each change.
- Automation of ETL processes allowed the Data team to effectively manage data with minimal effort.

Thanks to cooperation with Alterdata, we have created a modern data ecosystem that not only supports our organization in everyday operations, but also enables its further dynamic development.

Summary
The construction of a data warehouse in Polish Open Fiber is an example of effective implementation of a modern cloud architecture, adapted to the dynamic needs of a developing organization. Thanks to the GCP-based solution, PŚO gained full independence in reporting, increased operational efficiency and created solid foundations for further digitization of business processes.
